Your Country Needs You
This play explores the politics behind the outbreak of the war through to the Battle of the Somme, using sketches and vignettes to follow the fate of a ‘Pals’ Battalion leaving England’s shores for the fields of Northern France.
Using original source materials and Interweaving songs, sketches, poetry and prose from the time the play examines the effects of war on those directly involved at home and at the front.
This play is booked by both primary and secondary schools and starts touring on Wednesday 18th October 2018.
Thank you very much, a truly sensational educational experience – Saxmundham Free School, Suffolk IP17.
The guys just left, the play was brilliant- very educational but also funny, engaging and full of the culture from the war. Very well put together, not sure how the actors maintained their energy, it was especially good for our boys to see 2 young men singing, dancing and showing such confidence when fooling around – Oakwood Park Grammar School , Kent ME16
We had Year 5 watching as well as Years 6 & 7, and it was testimony to the standard and entertainment value of the production that all of these children, even the youngest, were pretty hooked (and singing along) for the best part of an hour in a subject that is actually quite complex but that was made to seem very accessible. That is a great feat! So thank you! – Thomas’s School, Clapham SW11
With singing, powerful role play, songs and humour, the two man cast played a range of characters and told the sad story of the Royal Scots Footballers’ Battalion. They taught us plenty, made us laugh and then feel like crying – thank you for an inspiring performance – North Lakes School, Cumbria CA11
Yesterday was a great experience for our school. Pupils and staff learnt a lot about the lead up to The Battle of the Somme. They shed tears over soldiers writing home the night before the battle. – Dalry School, Castle Douglas DG7 3UX
The feedback that I have had from my staff has been amazing – Hanmer Primary School, Wrexham SY13

Just a quick line to say how very grateful we were for the trouble you took to fit our booking in for yesterday; it was an absolutely excellent production, skilfully written and brilliantly performed. I would recommend it to any school (although in fact I think it deserves a wider audience). – Lockers Park School, Hemel Hempstead HP1
