CLASSIC PLAYS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS
THE NUTCRACKER AND THE MOUSE KING
Every year, we perform our own adaptations of classic Christmas stories during the festive season, and adaptations of classic texts during the summer term, which tour into Primary Schools.
This Christmas, Michael Whitmore has adapted the ETA Hoffmann classic The Nutcracker and the Mouse King for the stage. Taken directly from the original text, the show tells the story of Marie and her beloved Nutcracker and their fight against the Mouse King to regain the Kingdom of the Land of Sweets.
We come with a full set, lights, costumes and music to create a truly theatrical and magical experience for all and during the summer months we can even perform outside.

"Silly child, how can you imagine that this wooden doll from Nuremberg is really alive and capable of moving about?".
The Nutcracker and the Mouse King
It's Christmas Eve, and Marie receives a magical Nutcracker doll from her godfather, Dr Drosselmayer as a special Christmas present.
But that evening, the toys come to life and a terrible battle ensues between an invading army of mice, led by the Mouse King, and the brave Nutcracker doll himself.
Will he prevail, and can Marie break the magic spell that turned him into a Nutcracker?
find out in Michael Whitmore’s enchanting adaptation of the ETA Hoffmann Christmas classic.
